I have lived in eight provinces and territories within Canada with the majority of my time in Saskatoon. I studied fine arts at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University (NSCAD) and graduated with my BFA in 2007. I began a career as a professional painter while working in communications. In 2011 I returned to the U of S and completed an MA in Geography and Planning and most recently in September 2020, I completed an MFA in studio art at the University of Saskatchewan.
My paintings interpret nature while considering other worldly and human responses. I studied new media and graphic design at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Alberta, Canada. Consequently, I notice line, shape, and colour; the meaning of symbols, and the elements they communicate. The vast lateral landscape with the intermittent infusion of colour is a large part of my inspiration.
I have participated in Emma Collab since 2000. In the early years I was in charge of marketing and communications for the event, as a staff member of the Sask Craft Council (SCC). I left the SCC and subsequently served on the Emma Committee and participated as an artist.”
