Sylvia Ziemann is a mixed media artist who works in sculpture, painting, installation and puppet film. Ziemann’s current works are miniature installations that house futuristic home movies. The works look into the future of living spaces and how individuals might respond to environmental challenges caused by climate change, pandemics and extreme conditions.
Born in Edmonton she earned a diploma in painting from The Alberta College of Art and Design (1983), a BFA From The Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (1986) and MFA from the University of Regina 2014. Sylvia moved to Regina in 1999 and is one of the initiators of the Regina Artist Trading Card collective. She teaches Art at the University of Regina.
