Scott Braun is an interdisciplinary artist in Baltimore, MD. His sculpture and social practice engage participants in critical exploration of societal structures and human relationships. He has performed “The Decency Project” with thousands of people in cultural/academic institutions and public parks in 18 states across the US, including Korea Art Forum in NYC; the Museum for Art in Wood in Philadelphia; the VA Museum of Fine Arts and the Branch Museum in Richmond, VA; and the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, CO. Solo and group exhibitions of his work include the Queens Museum in New York, the Pei-Ling Chen Sculpture Garden in Savannah, GA, and the American University Museum in Washington, DC.
Braun has served as Lecturer in Sculpture at Yale School of Art, Faculty/Critic at New York School of Interior Design, and Assistant Professor, Area Head in Wood, for the Craft/Material Studies Department of VCUArts in Richmond, VA. He holds a BA in Music from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and an MFA in Studio Art and Social Practice from Queens College, CUNY in NY.
