Media: Wood, Woodturning

I am primarily a woodturner based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, with roots in woodworking that began in my teens. My journey started in the 4H woodworking program, where I first encountered the wood lathe—a tool that quickly became central to my creative exploration. At 14, I purchased my first lathe with earnings from a summer job, and I’ve been turning ever since.

Over the years, I’ve continued to build my skills through hands-on learning, workshops, and mentorship from experienced turners both locally and beyond. As a member of the Hub City Woodturners, I stay actively involved in a community that encourages experimentation and artistic growth.

My work embraces the artistic rather than the utilitarian, incorporating elements of carving, colour, and form. I’m drawn to the expressive potential of the medium and strive to create pieces that transform wood into expressive art.
