Myra has been creating objects since playing at the repair bench of her father’s electronics company. “I was always checking out books at the library about making stuff.”
After pursing careers in business, which included promoting a couple of jazz concerts, and commercial interior design and space planning, she enrolled at age 44 at the Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis, IN. Myra earned her BFA in furniture design and began making contemporary furniture and wall sculpture. While exploring new materials she developed a love working with metal, primarily silver and copper. From there she developed and created a collection of wearable art. “I love working with wood and metal - and the way I can shape, bend, form and color these materials offers endless possibilities for creating work.”
