A woodturner living in Portland, Oregon and am primarily self taught. Growing up partly in the West Indies gave me a strong attraction to vibrant colors and strong forms. Living in Oregon with its many gray days has only increased that attraction. I frequently texture my work and use multiple layers of milk paint, sanding partially through some of the layers to give the pieces richness and depth of color. My work includes functional and non functional pieces and whatever I am making, I strive to make the viewer want to reach out and touch it.
