Maiko Sugano

Born in 1974, in Japan, Maiko Sugano received her BFA from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music (The current name is Tokyo University of the Arts), School of Fine Arts in 1997.
Sugano received her M.F.A.(Wood /Furniture) from California College of the Arts Master in Fine Arts (Wood /Furniture) in 2004.
From 2009 to 2010, Sugano Studied abroad at the Program of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists, as a visiting researcher at the Marta Herford Museum in Germany, supported by the Agency for Cultural Affairs of Japan.
In 2014, Sugano received her Ph.D. (Fine Art) from the Tokyo University of the Arts. In 2023, her piece was collected by the Museum of Art in Wood in Philadelphia.
