Over the years, Louisa’s relationship with Art has been varied. She has studied music, dance, theatre and many forms of visual art, including scenography and warm glass.
The founding of Dancing Sky Theatre in 1993, by her partner and herself, gave her the opportunity to give her many skills one focus. In any given season at Dancing Sky, it was not uncommon for her to be performing in a play, writing songs for it, building costumes and designing the promotional materials.
A stained glass mentorship in Sienna, Italy, in 2008 split her artistic focus. For the last 9 years, she has devoted half her time to her studio practice as a contemporary glass artist.
For Louisa, creating connections and dialogue between Fine Art, Performing Arts and Craft always opens exciting, new doorways to the creation process and experience. Louisa’s favorite themes are: the bridge between the past and the present, the value of artifacts, and allegory.
