Jamie Kroeger (she/her) employs material and process to discuss the overlapping relationships that exist in landscape and cultural ecologies. With over twenty years of work in the environmental science field (primarily in the avalanche and wildfire realm), she explores the relationships that exist within, and because of the outdoors. In 2019, she graduated with an MFA from the Kunsthøgskolen in Oslo (Medium and Material based Studies). Prior to that, earned a BFA (with Distinction) in 2017, from the Alberta College of Art + Design (Jewellery and Metals) and was a student in the Jewellery and Silversmithing department at the Glasgow School of Art in 2015.The object- based narratives she builds feature themes of safety, observation, experience, and the gathering of knowledge. They present another way of acknowledging how a basic relationship to place can evolve into specific cultures and attitudes. Her projects have been exhibited at both a national and international level.
