“Connie Chaplin is owner and artist at Hansen – Ross House Artists in Residence Fort QuAppelle, Saskatchewan. Connie is primarily a textile artist, but also a Potter. She focusses on processes, rooted in materials and nature using techniques drawn from intercultural craft traditions, refreshing age, old methods with botanical dying, indigo, batik and Shibori techniques. She loves nature and all the colours she has to offer.
Connie continues to follow her desire to grow her knowledge and experience with thighs and textiles. Currently she Eco Print on leather and other natural fabrics she has trained under Suzanne Dekle, Linda, illuminati, Katheryn, Hermann and Hendy Henderson travelling from Barbados, California, Mexico and Indonesia for her training.
Connie challenges herself with her art and to become more. Learn more, share more, and to experience more nature and the history of cultures and their environment with textiles natural dyes and patterns in cloth and art. Sharing her knowledge as she goes along the way inspires her. Connie teaches locally and across Canada.
